Change the world through the power of the arts.
The Centre for European Studies (CES) is a major research hub in British Columbia – leading community events, hosting visiting scholars, and offering fellowship programs for students and faculty.
Your investment in us can have a lasting impact on students and faculty for generations. You can donate to the CES Fund, or to our lecture series in queer and trans German studies. For any larger gifts, please reach out to the CES director.

The Robert D. Tobin Distinguished Lecture Series in Queer and Trans German Studies
This lecture series was inaugurated in 2024, bringing international scholars working at the forefront of queer and trans German studies to UBC to share their scholarship with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The series is supported by the UBC Faculty of Arts and community fundraising. It is housed in the Department of Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies and is administered by the Centre for European Studies.
