CES brings together scholars from across UBC researching topics that relate to European studies. We host talks, research clusters, and support ongoing research activities by our affiliates.
Affiliate roles
Our affiliates are internationally recognized scholars in European studies. They give talks in the CES colloquium series, offer support with research clusters or grant writing initiatives, serve as advocates for CES throughout the university, and provide mentoring for other affiliates where possible.
How to become an affiliate
We welcome UBC doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty in any stream working on an area of European studies to join CES as affiliate members. The application process is straightforward, and applications can come from scholars working at either UBC Vancouver or UBC Okanagan and are accepted on a rolling basis.
