Exchange Study and Service Learning Opportunity in Germany: Refugee Integration and Migration

From March to July 2018, students can participate in a combination study exchange and community service learning assignment through Konstanz University in Germany.

The program has three components:

  • German language and culture course,
  • 3 academic courses in English in the areas of political science, conflict, migration and international economics,
  • guided community project with supervision and academic reflection

Students earn up to 12 UBC credits

Service Learning component: Students work with grassroots organizations (mostly) associated with the university to assist with refugee resettlement and conflict transformation. A bi-weekly seminar will provide structure to the student activities and base them in the theoretical background of social voluntary work.

Includes a scholarship of up to 2500 Euros to help cover living and travel costs plus consideration for a Go Global Award of $1000
